DS scrotal surgery - how painful should it be?

DS was admitted through A&E for an emergency operation on his testicles on Saturday afternoon. They originally thought it could be a torsion but it was just a bad infection. Fluid was drained, cleaned out and stitched back up and he came home a couple of hours later.

He managed quite well Sunday and yesterday morning and then said pain relief wasn't doing much so he's been on codeine since yesterday evening. He's just said it doesn't feel right. I think he's worried that the pain he's experiencing is more than normal post op pain

DH is on his way home and is scheduled to take him for a private GP appointment about an ongoing lymphatic system issue at 7.30pm. DS is saying he'll just wait until then and speak to doctor but I'm starting to panic that I should quickly take him back to A&E.

DS said if it has since twisted it'd be dead by now so no point in rushing about.

DS is 15 and man sized, 6ft tall and not prone to moaning about stuff.

Any nurses about who have any idea about post op pain n boys.

My DS has had testicle torsion twice, he lost one testicle but they managed to save the other. Has he been wearing tight briefs as they are advised not to wear boxers after surgery.

It was just the infection not responding to the antibiotics and the fact he had been consulting DR Google 🙄

Was given the strongest antibiotics he can have (with some alarming possible side effects) and if they're not doing the job and pain hasn't started to ease in 48hrs he'll be admitted.

Go to A&E. mountain had something called hydatid of morgagni. It presented as pain and swelling in one restocked and required an emergency op.

The first specialist (!) missed it. We were told you should ALWAYS take boys urgh testifies pain to A&E.
