Wondering has anyone any advise on kids bank account for 2 kids age 10 and 7. They won't have much to open it. Approx £250 each. Up until now I keep their money and then spend it as and when they need it. But now they are a bit older I feel they should have a bit more control but they currently have notes lying in their money box and I know they will end up loosing them if not put into bank. Looking one that they can access the money if lookin to spend it

you can set up a future fund with co-op bank for each of them.

I think the options are much more limited than they used to be. I remember having a post office account from a very young age and being able to deposit and withdraw 50p or £1 at a time as I managed my pocket money finances. I had a separate savings account for long term savings. now it seems you can only get pocket money accounts for older children - age 11 seems to be the minimum for any account with easy instant access to spending money.

there are pocket money prepay cards like Osper which younger children can use but I never signed up for them as the charges are far too high.
