Newborn - 2 weeks - red spots

First time mum and therefore analysing every change...!

I'm exclusively breastfeeding, haven't used any new moisturiser, body wash, face wash etc. No new products used on baby. Baby is two weeks old today.

In past 24 hours she has developed some small red spots on her face and her eyelids look more veiny?! Maybe... maybe the veins are me just looking closer due to the red spots. The milk spots next to her nose have been there since birth.

Can someone reassure me that this is just milia or baby acne or something - I will be monitoring overnight and phone midwife / hosp tomorrow if they get any worse...

Thanks so much

DS1 had this and the GP just said it was baby acne. Very common and caused by hormones post birth IIRC (this was years ago now)? Usually clears up pretty quickly. I would ask a health professional for advice though, don't just take my advice!

Your baby is absolutely gorgeous, btw! Congrats Flowers

Baby acne?
How's her temperature? That's always my go-to for DS.

orangejuicer · 28/12/2019 19:26

She's beautiful by the way!

Thanks @Roomba @orangejuicer :)

I am biased but I think she's a belter!

Her temp is fine and she's feeding fine and seems the same as she has been. I did wonder about baby acne so will see how it progresses and seek med advice if any changes.

I am trying to treat her poor blistered lips with breast milk so I might try some of this magical stuff on her face too. That and patience seem to be the way forward!

Thank you for the reassurance!
