Hi ladies.

See picture attached. Is it anything to worry about? He faffs with his bottles and has been colicky and reflux since 2 weeks old!

Is this a lip tie?

It looks like an attached frenulum. My daughter had one. She has a little operation where they cut it when she was 11. It is purely a vanity op though, it shouldn't cause any problems. The surgeon was a bit disparaging about her having it done but she is pleased that she did.

@scazlackabumdiyay hi!

Thank you! I just wonder if it's been the cause of some of his gas at all!! Does it affect their teeth?

All my children have this. It hasnt affected teeth at all. One of mine used to curl his lip under to feed when tiny though so he did get a bit gassy

@Amicompletelyinsane omg was this the bottom lip?! My child latches good on a bottle but his bottom lip curls under his tongue when he sucks! He's 5 and a half months.

My sisters and I were all born with them. I had mine clipped when I was about 9 or 10 on the recommendation of our family dentist because it had created a gap between my top front teeth.

@MrsMoastyToasty hi! That's what I'm wondering. Does it look really bad or? As I'm not sure what they're meant to look like 😂

Everyone's frenulum is attached.

I wouldn't worry about it, it looks like he's got good lip movement, so perfectly normal. You can't really say what it's gonna look like when he's 10 or whatever so just leave it alone for now. He might get a gap in his front teeth but I'd leave that to sort at the time if it happens

@BlueCornsihPixie thanks honey x

It caused a gap between my daughters teeth too but didn't have any other affect.
