Silent reflux?

Hi, I'm new to mumsnet but struggling with 8 week old baby and wanted to see if anyone else has had experience of this. We think she has silent reflux but not too sure. Has come on in he last few weeks and is terrible as she just will not sleep except on us (sometimes) and cries and cries. We initially thought it was just wind but it's more. She cries so much, won't sleep unless on us, in the pram or sling outside (sometimes), appears to always be chewing in her mouth, can hear how gassy she is, constant explosive poos, crazy moving arms and legs if we put her down to sleep, choking noises, she claws at her mouth and throat, sounding like she has a cold even though she doesn't. We've been to see HV and GP who weren't massively helpful but eventually gave us baby gavison. I'm only breastfeeding and finding it really hard to give it to her mid feed when home alone. And doesn't seem to really be working. Does anyone have any experience or advice? We are massively struggling as some nights she literally will not sleep at all and we're paranoid about falling asleep holding her so also get no sleep.
And she looks like she is in so much pain when what we assume is the acid coming back up
Friends have suggested a thicker formula sometimes helps but I am reluctant to stop breast feeding if I can avoid it.

Get back to the gp and try ranitidine. Easier to give when breastfeeding and works better.

How often are you managing to give the gaviscon? My little one had been like yours and it's worked really well for us. I'm also breastfeeding. I've been mixing it into ebm and syringing it in. She gets upset but I do it mid feed so I can get her back in breast to settle her. My little one wouldn't sleep unless on me or right next to me in bed. We've been cosleeping since she was 5 days old after we were shown safe way by a midwife. Seriously I wouldn't have slept the last 6 weeks if we hadn't been show how to do so. There is literature from WHO and UNICEF that there are safe ways to cosleep as long as you don't have specific risk factors. Here's an article for la leche league to consider. It may at least help with your sleep while you sort out the reflux.

Really sympathise OP - My daughter has just been through this with our first GC - even ended up in hospital overnight things got so bad.
If you are on Facebook please join the following group - Living with Reflux (Child Support) - Charity Number 1132614. The people on here have all been through it and are so supportive and knowledgeable about medication and anything that helps, you can ask anything and there's always someone who answers straight away with help and support.
Someone mentioned allergies in a previous post - my daughter BF and it turns out her baby is allergic to dairy and soya as well as the reflux so she went vegan and there was a huge improvement .
It will get better once you get the right advice and meds for your baby 💐

There's no way they'll give ranitidine now. But an alternative.

Thank you all, I've joined the face book group which is helping. GP has said to keep trying with gavisxon for two weeks and review

try and prop her cot up while she sleeps, that helped DS.

We found Gaviscon absolutely no use at all and we persevered with it but it didn't help, thicker formula didn't help either, it just made the reflux less silent and he was sick a lot more.

i'll be totally honest with you, DS only really Improved when he was eating mainly solids, we cut his milk down as soon as we safely could.

Has the doctor mentioned anything about intolerance? cows milk allergy? I know you're BF but it can still affect them I believe. I remember the doctor telling us about that (though it wasn't the case for DS)
