Baby clenches fits goes red and grunts

Hi
My baby is now 10 weeks old.
Around two weeks just while walking down the stairs he started to arch back, clench fits and bring them up to his head, fixate his eyes, go red and grunt. We just thought he just doesn't like the movement of going down the stairs.
2 weeks ago he suddenly started doing this all the time when being moved, it is only when he is moving though.
For example in the pram, in car seat when car is moving, walking, still does it up and down the stairs and very occasionally while being picked up.
Some people have said he is just trying to poo, i really dont think this is related as he doesnt do it lay down or while still.
If we are holding him while he does this, we rub his back or hold his hand and he stops.
Im waiting for pediatrician appointment as doctor had no clue what it was. To me it seems like a startle reflex issue, like he is protecting himself as worried or something.
Really hope some of you have experience of this and can help?
Im extremely worried it could be spasms or something? Or potentially that he is in pain.
Thanks

Really sorry to hear that you're concerned about this, @charlottemnj - we're bumping the thread and hopefully someone will be along soon with advice. Best of luck to you and your DS. Flowers

I know you said you don’t think it’s a poo but is he pooing normally? Could the movement be stimulating his bowels?

It sounds remarkably like a poo from what you describe.

Film them when they happen and show your pediatrician. It’s unlikely to be anything serious if you can bring him out of it by touching his back, but they tend to investigate possible seizures more seriously if there’s evidence

If you're waiting to see a paediatrician it would be very helpful for them if you can film a few of these movements to show them
How does your baby seem immediately before & after these episodes? Do they immediately return to normal?

Could it be infantile spasms?

Yeah we have filmed it, he's totally fine before and after and there isn't any regular pattern accept movement but doesn't happen ever single time we move him. As I said we can stop it so doctor doesn't think its infantile spasms. Its like it comes from his back, when you hold him you can actually feel his back starting to go before anything else. So odd, just thought I would see if others have seen it before.
