10 year old with possible virus saying somethings pushing on his chest

Really healthy ten year old who gets asthma in the damp/cold weather complaining of feeling sick yesterday morning. After school, he kept complaining it felt like something was stuck in chest, gave him his inhaler which didn't help but he wasn't himself and had a minor temp.

Said he was constipated (happens every few months) so gave him movicol and that seemed to clear it up and his chest was fine after bowel movement. Thought maybe the chest had been anxiety about constipation and feeling sick. He had a quick sleep on the couch afterwards which is unusual for him as he never naps when sick!

Went to bed no problems, then woke me up this morning with the chest problem again, saying it feels like someone is pushing on his chest. Said the inhaler helped a bit. He's a bugger for taking his top off in bed so he's gone back to bed with a top on and a warm bean bag. But he says it's not helping.

It's the chest comments I'm really worried about. Any advice?

Hi all. He's now fine. I did call an ambulance as after I had been on 111 he lay down and became very breathless and pale. They came out in about 20 mins and spent about an hour with him, checked his SATS, bloody pressure, his heart rate, temp, chest, everything was pretty normal. They said that it might possibly have been that he pulled a muscle in his chest coughing yesterday at school after being out in the cold as he did need his inhaler and was constantly coughing. I gave him calpol and he's been fine since then thank god.

I was hesitant to call an ambulance as he seemed to be swinging between normal dn unwell quite a lot and didn't want to waste their time, especially when we only live 10 min from the hospital. But when he went pale and his breathing became laboured, I decided not to take the risk.

Thanks for everyone's concern

So glad he's fine. I've done that with a chest muscle, it was so painful. I'd never heard of it before but when I mentioned it to my boss she said it had happened to her too. You can't be too careful with chest pain.
