Is this a dribble rash?!

Hello!

First time mum here.

Is this a dribble rash? My little one is teething and also has reflux so we constantly have sick and dribble. I wipe it away change bibs and outfits as quick as I can.
Tried sudocrem and Vaseline.

Any suggestions or should I go GP?!
Thank you.

I am wondering about eczema a GP trip would confirm Wink

@Flicketyflack hi my lovely! I thought that too as when you feel it it does have that slight consistency! Thank you!

It looks like excema or contact dermatitis. Have you used any new products on his skin or his clothes? Try liberally using a plain emollient like Oilatum cream to clean and moisturise his face. Do lots of extra rinses on his laundry and avoid fabric conditioner.

The gp is your best bet because we have 'self-treated' skin stuff and made it worse Sad

Hope your DC is ok Smile

Looks more like a heat rash than eczema tbh but I have sometimes had it come up in discs like that on my shoulders so I'd go to the GP for some steroids. It's sore when wet like that

Delilah7 · 07/11/2019 19:31

@BrokenLink hey!
No new products or anything washing wise.
He is sick every feed though due to reflux and is constantly wet ( I change him as soon as he throw up or change his bib as soon as he dribbles lol ).

@Flicketyflack apart from colic for 4 and a half months and reflux he's fine 😂 thank you. Think I'll try to GP tomorrow.

@LemonPrism I'd be confused if it was a heat rash, he's never had a temperature lol.
Defo looks sore!

Pop into the pharmacist if you have any worries (they are really good....make sure you ask to speak to the pharmacist).

Delilah7 · 07/11/2019 19:34

@Mumdiva99 hey! Ok thank you!

My DS has mild eczema and it often presents like this @Delilah7, nurse at the GP’s surgery prescribed hydrocortisone cream and whenever it flares up we apply a thin layer and that pretty much sorts it out.

FrappeLatte · 07/11/2019 21:16

How often do you actually wash his face? If we get a bit lax washing the baby’s face (rather than just wiping it), a similar rash doesn’t take long to appear.

Delilah7 · 08/11/2019 06:24

@tappitytaptap ok thank you!! Xx

@FrappeLatte hey! Quite regularly but obviously not enough :( xx
