Teenage son passing out

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help? My 14 year old has been passing out and the consultant did an ecg which the cardiologist isn't happy with, apparently something called j waves ? My cardiologist said he needs to be seen soon but he only deals with adults, I phoned up to see how long the waiting lost is and appointment he won't be seen until December/January ! He needs an echo, 7 day ecg and table tilt test, in the mean time he has been told to do no exercises or sports, so I was wondering if anyone had experience of j waves or how I could get him seen sooner? Thank you.Smile

Hi @Vixster123,

Sorry to hear you're going through a worrying time. We're moving your thread over to our Children's Health topic and editing the title so people will have an idea what it's about - that way you'll hopefully get some advice and support from other Mumsnetters before long.

Sending good wishes to your boy Flowers

Just giving this thread another bump.

You must be worried - a few suggestions:

You could contact the charity CRY and see if there is a local scan date planned for your area.

You could go back to your GP if symptoms change or worried.

You could phone secretary or clinic to go on cancellation list.

Finally if he faints again or has a fast heart or any symptoms he or you are worried about go to A&E.

🤞

Thank you for those suggestions, I have never heard of cry so I will look into that, I actually took him to a and e about 3 weeks when he passed out again, the doctors were very thorough and were more concerned he has no memory of what happens , he always has a fast heart rate before and after, they just said until you see the cardiologist keep bringing him back to a and e every time he passes out, I will be phoning secretary tomorrow to go on cancellation list .
