How often do your children get high temperatures? Is it normal to get a temp 2/3 times a month?

I wouldn't say it was normal as a continuous thing but in winter more illnesses means more fevers and if they've just started a creche or nursery etc. My ds5 probably gets a fever once a month in winter but not in spring/summer time. When he was in creche as a toddler he did have some periods where he'd have a fever every 2 weeks or so so yes few times a month. All depends on the circumstances whether it's deemed normal or not really.

There are average figures quoted as high as 12 per year, and obviously this means some will have more and some fewer. As mentioned there tend to be more in the winter and particularly when there is exposure to lots of other young children.

As long as the child is well in between episodes and there are not other concerning features, this sounds consistent with a healthy child.

Thanks for your replies.. she’s being referred to peadiatrics about a seperate issue so will maybe just mention it but sounds like it just normal.
