DS is 3.
Well in himself, eating, drinking, not sore, not itchy, not hurting, not complaining of anything. Not listless. No other symptoms except a chesty cough (constant feature between sept and March anyway as he’s asthmatic and winter is rough on him).

Rash is in patches across his torso only.

One case of scarlet fever at nursery a fortnight ago.
Wore some pyjamas with a vinyl transfer over the torso last night, so maybe heat rash where the PJs weren’t breathable?
Also slid downstairs on his tummy this morning- maybe carpet burn XL?!

Otherwise a bit puzzled- any ideas what this looks like?

Ah also- it’s a blanching rash. Invisible when pressed lightly.

Bump?

In my experience, there's little point worrying about rashes unless they are persistent or worrying due to not fading when pressed.

There are gazillions of mild viruses that can cause random rashes, plus millions of other factors that might or might not make an individual prone to developing a rash when exposed to certain conditions.

Give it 24 / 48 hours and see where things are.

It's probably not, but reminds me of Guttate psoriasis. My DS had it a few years ago, it started out on his chest (initially thought it was a heat rash), and gradually spread all over his body. It is usually seen in children around three weeks after a bacterial infection (my boy had a throat infection). It itched, especially once it spread, but he was perfectly well in himself.
