Can anyone reassure me?

My 6 month old gained a purple spot inside her ear on Wed/Thursday. Today she has gained another one near it and the original hasn’t faded. I have put a picture below.

She is well in herself, no obvious injury (and they aren’t fading turning green/yellow like I would expect a bruise). Google mentions lots of scary things like cancer so I’m scared to read too much.

Can anyone reassure me before I seek a GP appointment on Monday?

Likely just a bruise, no? Bruises can take a while to fade.

@suzie81 I’m hoping just a bruise but it seems a strange place to get two on separate days.

My DD sometimes scratches herself there, might just be that.

Honestly just looks like he might have pinched himself. Bruises don't always develop at same speed.

Do you have any older children? Could they have have been a bit rough with her?
It looks a bit like bruising, it's a difficult one but it's the kind of thing a HCP might include NAI amongst their differential diagnosis. Sorry.

@usernom123123 NAI?

It has faded today so I assume is possibly a bruise. I do have a 2 year old who can be a bit rough when cuddling her so it is possible she has taken a knock. She has also only just started sitting and so has wobbled a few times and called forwards so could have bumped it then.

NAI-non accidental injury.
I don't want to alarm you but unexplained ear bruising is a place where HCP's May start to think along safeguarding lines. If the bruise is fading, keep an eye on things generally re overall health.
