Toddlers and asthma and pollution

My nearly 2yo DS has had inhalers since last Christmas. He was in and out of A&E last winter and really poorly on one occasion. He gets wheezy and breathless when he has even the slightest sniffle. I would like to not use inhalers as they can stunt growth but I understand the benefits outweigh that risk.

We live next to a very busy motorway junction and as much as I don't want to leave the area I feel like we have to consider moving somewhere with cleaner air. I've bought an air purifier for the house but not sure if that'll help really. Is there a way to find out if pollution is causing his breathing problems? Has anyone found an improvement in their child's breathing from moving somewhere more rural? I have spoken to doctors who just say a lot of kids grow out of it. Am I jumping the gun and stressing too soon?

I have had chronic asthma since I was born, and used inhalers all my life. My uncles are also the same, we're all over 6ft.

Also live in the middle of countryside but I find It just as polluted due to military aircrafts. I think it's very hard to avoid are pollution in these times.

My asthma has only ever got better really, regular brown inhaler through a spacer, keep fit and active. When I was younger my grandma used to make me blow up balloons and blow ping pong balls across tables for my asthma and funnily enough I now have a great lung capacity and at 25 I am only using my inhalers 1-2 times a week.

Regular care is the key to asthma through brown inhaler. Lots of kids out grow childhood asthma but if its chronic its best keeping it managed.

Thanks for replying. Guess it's a wait and see situation!
