DS concussion

DS10 had a bad fall in a skate park on Saturday. He hit his head on tarmac but thankfully was wearing a helmet. We don't think he was knocked out, although can't be sure as we didn't see it happen (a friend had taken him).

Immediately after the fall, he had short term memory loss, and was confused/dazed so my friend took him to A&E. Doctors checked him over - all seemed fine. He was observed for a few hours and then discharged.

Sunday, he seemed ok - not 100% and said he felt sick, but pretty much like his usual self. Yesterday (Monday) he went back to school. He said he had difficulty concentrating and felt sick but I wasn't particularly worried as he was seemed ok in himself.

This morning however, he's woken up feeling very sick, he has a mild temperature and just wants to lie on the sofa. Not actually been sick but has a bucket nearby.

Not sure if I should be worried about this? I had expected him to be getting better, not worse. The sickness is also concerning me, along with the temperature.

Any docs out there who could give me some advice? Are these symptoms normal after a knock on the head, or should I take him to the GP / call 111 or back to A&E?

I'm not sure about the temp, but lethargy, confusion, difficulty concentrating, and feeling sick are all symptoms of concussion. Of course it could all be coincidence and he just happens to have picked up a bug, but I think I would ring 111 for advice.

Concussion can last from a few days to a week or two.

For infection signs check the obvious sources like any cough? What colour is his wee? And any pain when going?
