Anyone any tips on the best way? She is 11 months. Doctor surgery gave me a cup and suggested standing her up in bath after a drink and try to gather in the cup. They also have me pads and a syringe. Anyone any experience of this? Need to try and get it in today

It’s tricky! You gave my sympathy.

No nappy on, I had success with : run a shallow bath have a big drink (stay in bathroom) then 10mins playing nappy free (if you see her going hold her over a handy bowl) then try stand up in Bath / hold under arms to swish the feet in the bath et voila a tinkle. I had a selection of clean jogs and bowls handy, but actually ended up catching straight in the pot.

Try and press very gently on her bladder

Try the 'quick wee' method. I haven't had to use it but have heard it works a treat.

never ever managed to get one directly from peeing.

What worked was ot stuff a lumo of cooton wool in a clean nappy and then put on nappy and gives them lots ot drink.
Once they have weed you use the syringe to suck the urine from the cotton wool.
Works every time!

sorry, so many typos.
The quick wee method looks great, but girls wee will often trickle down and over their bum if lying on their back, so no idea how you are supposed to just 'catch it in the pot'

The pad/syringe works.

When I had to do it with dd1, I was told to put her nappy on inside out, as that way when she did see, the pad would absorb it all, rather than any being absorbed by the nappy, if that makes sense?

It was then fairly easy to transfer the wee from the pad using the syringe. The hardest bit of it all with us was waiting for dd1 to wee (she had all kinds of issues with drinking fluids, so never drank enough, so timing was tricky!)

I'm not having much luck! Tried the bath but no peepees at all and then she just got cranky. They had given me a bag to put on also so really hoped that would work but of course a big number 2 came and ruined that! Then it seemed to irritate her taking the sticky bits off again. Poor baby!
Now have tried the nappy on back to front with pad inside - but today of all days she won't drink much for me - not looking very positive!
