My 8 year old ds has just called me over to show me this on his finger. He’s just noticed it. He says it ISN’T sore.
It looks like a blister but I’m wondering where it’s come from/if it isn’t hurting him then it can’t be from an external cause...can it? Confused
Any ideas?

Has he burnt himself?

thaegumathteth · 14/09/2019 17:17

A wart? Molluscum?

Has he got any anywhere else? Wondering hand foot and mouth?

Swimsuitholygrail · 14/09/2019 17:24

He’s had molloscum as a three year old. It lasted over a year before going.
He hasn’t burnt or injured himself.
Could it be hand, foot and mouth? He seems well in himself. He had a minor cold last week but nothing alarming/no temperature

Definitely not a wart. It’s fluid filled and very delicate/paper thin

And just the one. No others I can see

It's a blister- something must have irritated or burnt him, even if he didn't notice.

I had a spider or other horrible insect bite that did this on my ankle. Big fluid filled blister and it went red and hot and swollen. I went to the walk in because I was worried it was cellulitis but no just a nasty bite. Took a good couple of weeks to go down though.

Smotheroffive · 14/09/2019 17:33

I would say just a regular blister that he hadn't realised he'd got because he was busy enjoying whatever it was he was doing at the time.

Except, you say its paper thin and delicate. Does it not burst when you touch it?

Problem solved!! He now remembers his finger hurting at school in the dinner hall. “I accidentally touched the tray of pasta with my finger”
