Son pooing constantly - should I be concerned?

My 4 year old poos several times a day.

He always has been like this even when he was a baby. I remember soiled nappy after soiled nappy after soiled nappy. He used to get nappy rash at nursery at times.

Lots of excess wind too.

Anyway, he seemed to get a bit better when he came out of nappies, but he'd still do like 2-3 poos every day quite often.

Today for example he's just had his 5th poo. He seems to go every time he has a wee. I'm sure he will go again later at least once more because he usually goes before bed.

It's not unusual for him to go 4-7 times in a day.

He doesn't eat anything unusual, he's got a good appetite and eats most things but a fairly typical diet, weetabix/porridge/Rice Krispies, sandwiches with different fillings/eggs/beans on toast, home cooked dinner, friuit/yoghurt/cheese/veg sticks for snacks. Drinks a lot, but only water/squash/milk.

He's a healthy weight, he's healthy and happy in every way. Dare I even say this but he rarely gets unwell.

The poos mostly look normal to me, but sometimes they can be a bit explosive, but certainly not all the time.

Any ideas what this could be? I'm unsure whether to bother the GP with this if ds isn't otherwise unwell.

It could be the fake sugar in squash. That can give kids lose stools or make them poop more. It could be he is just eating a bit much each day- have you checked his portion sizes? Most parents overfeed in portions tbh.

Are they actual poos, or smaller leaks? I ask because the latter is a sign of constipation - soft new poo, coming around an impaction of old poo and leaking out. They don’t have much control over it.

I thought it could be the squash, but he was doing it before he started having squash. Though it wouldn't hurt to cut it out.

I'm pretty confident his portions are ok, I use small children's plates and don't cram food on the plate. He does eat a lot of snacks he's always asking for food so I just try to give him healthy filling stuff as best as I can.

An example would be for lunch he'd have two scrambled eggs, a slice of toast, then some strawberries and yoghurt.

They seem to me to be actual poos, it amazes me how big they are I don't know where they all come from.
