It has just occurred to me the last few weeks with him being around all the time that DS1 who is 14 is the same height as me ; 6ft.
He now needs a men's 10 in shoes.

I am 6ft, his dad is 5'11".

I'm not worried about it at all, just curious to know other boy's stats this age.

5tft 11 and size 9,5 shoe dh 6'1 and his dgf 6,3 - he has an uncle of 6'7 ...
not sure how my short 5'6 will impact- but i do think his rate of growth is slowing.....

WeakAsIAm · 13/08/2019 16:53

Speaking to an endocrinologist recently who told me girls stop growing when they start periods, boys when they grow beards.
So if they haven't got facial hair yet expect more growth.
Mines 6' with size 9 feet he dwarfed me some time ago; the beard has not yet grown so I expect a larger crick in my neck yet Grin

It's nice to watch them grow so big isn't it tho?

Hellohah · 13/08/2019 16:54

DS has just turned 14. He's 5ft6 and in a size 8 shoe.
I'm 5ft2, his dad is 6ft2.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 13/08/2019 17:00

DS2 is 13.3 and 5’9”, size 10 shoes and massive massive hands.

DH is 6’2”
I’m 5’2”
And DS1(25) is 5’10” and quite wiry/slight.

DS1 is a bit miffed that “the baby” will probably outgrow him soon.

Chartreuser · 13/08/2019 17:05

DS is 14, size 11.5 feet and Judi Scott to pop me at 5ft 7. Given the size of those feet I suspect the only way is up (DB is 6ft 5 Great Uncle is 100 and 6ft 7. DS10 is 10 and size 7.5, 5ft 5. Poor DD got my dad's genes (he's 5ft 8 DGM was 4ft 10!)

It’s hard to predict sometimes - I’m the tallest in my family and my eldest sister is the smallest. Mum was quite short but dad was tall.

Snowinsummer · 13/08/2019 17:20

He's at least 6'3" but both our families are quite tall. His shoe size is 10.5. He's been the tallest in his school for a while!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 14/08/2019 09:03

Thanks everyone Smile
He was 99th percentile at birth and no sign at all of a beard yet so let's see.... Grin

My 14 year old is about 6 ft and a size 9.5. He seems to be slowing down now. I'm 5'8 and his dad is 5'9 (so says he but he's the same height as me ;) ) his sisters are both petite, my mother is about five foot and my father 6'4.

Zoflorabore · 14/08/2019 09:10

When my ds was 14 he was just under 6ft and a size 14 shoe. Thankfully his feet stopped growing, I was panicking! He was in a size 9 at 9, 10 at 10 etc and I had visions of him being 18 in a size 18.....

He's now 16 and 6ft 2 and still growing I think, he's also ridiculously hairy but has such a baby face. My brother is 6ft 6 and ds's dad is 6ft 3 so I'm expecting somewhere similar for ds.

stuckon99percent · 14/08/2019 09:10

Ds is 15 soon and 6ft size 11 shoes.

I'm 5ft 2, his dads 5ft 7

I don't know about boys, but girls don't stop growing at 12/13 (or in some cases, 8 years old). DD1 had probably her biggest growth spurt to date when she was 13, at the time she started her periods, growing 3 inches in a year. Other than that she has grown slowly and steadily. I started my periods when I was 12, and 5'1", and am 5'7, a height I reached at age 17/18.

Spinnaret · 14/08/2019 16:00

DS is 14 in about 3 weeks. He is barely 5' and a size 6. I should have married for height not love.

BoswellsBollocks · 14/08/2019 16:04

DS is almost 14 and 5’8 with size 10 feet.

DH is 6’1
I’m 5’3

Our eldest DS is 6’2 at 18.

TwoBlueFish · 14/08/2019 16:05

14 (almost 15) 5’4” and size 7 shoe

Bigearringsbigsmile · 14/08/2019 16:09

ds was 6'3" at 14
he's 19 now and 6' 7

ds2 is 15-nearly 16 and he's about 6'

TinklyLittleLaugh · 14/08/2019 17:42

While we are here can I just ask where you all buy school trousers for your tall boys?

DS is 13 but wears Next age 15 slim fit skinnies. They only go up to 16 so where do I go then?

CMOTDibbler · 14/08/2019 18:01

Marks and Spencers extra long trousers here

averythinline · 14/08/2019 18:33

yes m and s extra long - although he's top length now...next year will be interesting! 34leg
they have started long shirts as welll thank goodness..

next have extra long mens plain tracksuit bottoms - have really struggled finding tracksuit bottoms that are acceptable and not half mast! so any sources useful for a 26/34! (next not really acceptale but fit!)

jeas can be belted but am hoping legs dont go past 34 as not sure where to get easily/cheaply

namechangedforthis1980 · 14/08/2019 19:32

ASOS tall range are great for school trousers

Chitarra · 14/08/2019 20:05

DS will be 14 in 3 months. He's 5'6" and shoe size 8. His dad is 6'3" so I think he's still got a way to go.

Zoflorabore · 14/08/2019 20:07

I bought ds's school trousers from m and s too but he's starting college in September and it's own clothes, much to his delight :)

We've recently discovered Primark jeans ( mainly skinnies ) that are great in length at 34 as usually buy them from River Island. Ds is very fashion conscious but is happy to wear Primark jeans with his Hugo Boss/Ralph Lauren tops ( his dad spends a lot of money on his clothes ) and the Nike joggers from Sports Direct fit really well in the length.

They are way cheaper in SD as opposed to the likes of JD but ds doesn't wear them much now and prefers Under Armour shorts and would wear them all year round if he could Smile

Zoflorabore · 14/08/2019 20:11

To add- the Primark jeans cost £10 as opposed to around £40 in River Island.

bigTillyMint · 14/08/2019 20:12

DS was 180cm at 13, size 9.5 shoes. Still the same now at 18.
His voice had broken a week after his 12th birthday. He was one of the tallest boys in his year of 140 boys from Y8-Y11 having been very average at primary school!

DH is 171cm, I am 173cm, I think!
