Vercucca Advice Please

9 replies

Hello Ladies, I'm 8 years old daughter has a couple of vercuccas. I've tried treating them with different over the counter treatments. One is on her heel and will not go. Its gotten alot bigger and is hurting her. Tonight when I was filing it she complained it was very painful. It's not hot and doesn't look infected. Do I need to be worried? Any advice would be helpful

i would make an appointment to see your GP. they may be able to use the freezing treatment on it so that it falls off and doesn't hurt her anymore.

Duct tape . Honestly
Or corn plaster.

See a chiropodist. This is their specialty

Bazuka applied religiously every night, even better on feet that have soaked in the bath. Make sure they pick off the old stuff before applying the fresh, eventually the root will come out with the picked off bit.
Corn plasters are handy to put over a sore verruca to stop the pressure on it.
We've had a few over the years and they all do go eventually.

How long have you used the over the counter treatments for? DS took 2 treatments for his to fall off. DD took about 8 weeks....

@NayNay1980
When even the medical and scientific papers say that duct tape is the safest, cheapest and most effective method, you have to believe it. And painless too, which is quite important. A 4 min video that reports all the medical papers on this :

I have been thinking of trying the duct tape, but unfortunately I think its past that now bless her. Weve been treating it around 3 months now tried buzzuca, self freezing. She is a stinker and doesn't like me touching it. So plays up, whereas her twin brother sits lovely and we are getting somewhere with his. Thank you so much it's really been playing on my mind x

Duct tape is now the official NHS advice. GP gave me a print out.

Corn plasters that have Salicylic acid sorted my sons verucca out when freezing failed. It was huge!

Duct tape is even more appropriate then, because you wouldn;t touch her at all. Cut a piece, cover it and forget about it.
