Any idea what this is, in the corner of ds's mouth (ds is 9)?
It's not a spot spot, it looks a little like skin tag, but white. It seemed to go and is now back.

Cold sore? Take child to pharmacy for confirmation. Best get cold sores as soon as they start.

hazeyjane · 03/08/2019 20:26

It doesn't look like any cold sore I've seen. I'll see if we can find an open pharmacy tomorrow.

Looks like a wart.

OldAndWornOut · 03/08/2019 23:28

I was going to say a wart, too.

Paperdolly · 04/08/2019 16:22

Any updates?

melissasummerfield · 04/08/2019 16:23

I would also say wart

hazeyjane · 04/08/2019 19:01

Sorry.....just gone on holiday today, typically.

It looks like it is a wart. Nightmare because ds has additional needs and any form of medical stuff is a huge battle.

Will see his gp when we are back.

Thanks guys.

They usually go away on their own OP.

melissasummerfield · 04/08/2019 19:26

If it is a wart OP your GP wont need to treat it, it will just go away on its own after a few months

hazeyjane · 04/08/2019 19:36

That is good to know. I wasn't sure if it is supposed to be covered (tricky where it is!) Also whether it can be the sign of a deficiency. Ds has oral surgery coming up in the next couple of months, so they may be able to remove it if necessary l.

Did this need treatment?

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 27/09/2024 22:37

My DD had one of these when covered in Mollescum in her younger years. It was very noticeable as it continued to grow. She was very self conscious as other children make comments.
She also had several mollescum on her lips at the same time.
i was advised to get the stalk and lip mollescum removed and DD
doesn’t have any scarring .
No one confirmed if the stalk was connected to the Mollescum or just a coincidence .
