Swollen lymph nodes

My DD (6) has had raised lymph nodes on her neck for a few years. Even when she is completely well in herself they stick out like little peas on her neck. I have been reassured by the doctor twice that they aren't anything to worry about and that she's over sensitive and they are always working. Or words to that effect.
About 6 months ago she had one of these lumps in her groin area that doc wasn't worried about and eventually disappeared.
A few days ago she noticed two lumps on the back of her head, just up from her hairline. The doctor wants to send her for a blood test to be sure but she is generally well in herself. No fatigue, weight loss etc. I'm trying not to Google but I'm stressing so much. I can barely eat for worrying. I could literally vomit writing this. Does anyone have any experience with similar?

Good Morning Shapphire9

I'm in a similar situation, I noticed a swollen lymph node on my DS neck (he is 3).

My GP just just referred us to get a ultra sound to confirm one of the following;

  • Reactive Swollen Lymph Node
  • Possible Malignancy

After being told this I spent the whole day (and night) worrying, googling and with a huge wave of anxiety but I had to talk myself round that the extreme case only happens to a less than 1% chance and that my DS has no other symptom and is perfectly well in himself.

My GP re-assured me that 9 times out of 10 it's a reactive node. During the ultra sound they may need to take a biopsy (although I very much doubt it given how close it is to a main artery in his neck)

I was worried but I am now not because I had a friend who also had a reactive lymph node and during the biospsy they removed the whole node as was nothing to be worried about.

The problem with google is you get the most extreme case.

Hope you too can get some reassurance that you aren't alone and help ease your mind too.

Sending you lots of positive vibes
