Sore tongue

My dd age 8 keeps getting a sore tongue. It is the tip of the tongue that hurts and it has small raised bumps. The problem is, when we try to book a GP appointment, by the time the appointment comes around 10 days later, her tongue has gotten better. So I cancelled it last time, but now it’s happened again. It’s the second or third time she’s had this.
I know it could be a food intolerance but each time she hasn’t had anything out of the ordinary - just the usual stuff we often eat - she had bread, cheese, and strawberries for lunch yesterday when it started and it’s still sore today.
Has anyone had this and how did you figure out what was causing it? My concern is that even if I get her to the GP he won’t necessarily be able to know what’s causing it. I wondered too if it could be pollen causing it? We were in a park yesterday when it started up. She has no other symptoms of hay fever.
Thanks to anyone who’s able to help.

fruit can do it, so can sugar as can various vitamin deficiencies.

This is one thing that doctor google can help with

Could be oral thrush! I get this quite often but just treat it with Daktarin oral gel which you buy over the counter for around £6.

Sore tongue can be a symptom of both microcytic and macrocytic anaemias. Go to the GP anyway, even if her tongue isn't sore at the time of the visit.
