3 month old with “sickness bug”

Hi all
My 3mo LB has had a “sickness bug” since Wednesday morning. He’s barely keeping feeds down, projectile vomiting several times a day, sometimes hours after feeding him.
He’s EBF, but we’re having to drip feed him EBM through a bottle with a couple of feeds off me a day to try and keep the milk in him.
Ended up in hospital Wednesday night because he was dehydrating, discharged Thursday without any doctors listening to us or helping us manage it 😩
Went to GP yesterday after a telephone consultation who said it was likely gastroenteritis and should be clear within 5 days.
Day 5 is tomorrow and we are pretty much still in the same boat as we were Wednesday.

Does anyone know at what point they will start to actually try and manage/help the situation? I don’t even know if they can but it’s breaking my heart seeing my boy like this 😭

Has anyone else survived this?! Please tell me it WILL get better!

If he still isn’t keeping anything down, go back to a and e and make a big fuss about hydration and getting blood work done to see if its a virus or a bacteria. Make a big fuss

3 months is very young to catch a sickness bug, has he been round anyone who's had one, has anyone in the household had one? Could it be a reaction to the rotavirus vaccine if he's had it recently? If he's exactly the same today without even the slightest improvement each day id go back to A&E today and say you're worried about dehydration again because it's gone on so long. Did they give him fluids when you were kept in on Wednesday night? Did they see him throw up?

You have to go back to A&E and make a fuss. I was in with my 9 year old this week, he had fever and vomiting and has an underlying health condition which makes this dangerous for him. The doctors wanted to do nothing at all - I had a real fight on my hands, they ended up putting him on broad spectrum antibiotics preemptively at my utter insistence. When poo cultures came back 3 days later, they confirmed he had a bacterial infection.

Dehydration is dangerous, as is an untreated bacterial infection. Insist on tests and if baby isn't getting enough fluids, an IV. Don't let them take chances.

How is he OP? Did you go to a&e? If still bad I would tbh. We were in hospital this week and there was a baby in the same ward who had meningitis. His only symptom had been several days of vomiting

Hi all.
Sorry we’ve had quite the day (again!)
We went to A&E last night, they checked his blood and urine which were both clear.
Then today he has started keeping more feeds down 🤞🏼 So here’s hoping he’s on the mend!
Unfortunately I think I’m now coming down with whatever it is 😩 need a break!

Oh no op, I'm glad your ds is improving but sorry you are getting sick. Hopefully it's shorter lived for you than it has been for him.
