Toddler has always had diarrhoea

Dd is nearly 3, she ended up onlactose free milk as a baby but we were told she would outgrow it.

She’s constantly had diarrhoea and rarely had a solid poo. It stinks all the time, and she trumps a lot. But she’s gaining weight well. Iv noticed if she has milk/yogurt she poops worse.

I really don’t know how I’m going to potty train her with how bad the poop is 😩

I’m going to take her doctors next week but what could it be? Dairy intolerant? it can’t just be that though as she can go a while without yogurts etc.

Sounds like cows milk allergy rather than lactose intolerance

My dd was like that. Had collief (lactase enzyme) which helped when she was a baby. Had splatty, stinky poo ever since weaning, which I just put down to toddler diarrhoea/just the way she was. Her tummy often looked quite bloated too. Tests when she was 5 ruled out coeliac. After reading something on here, I tried switching to lactose free milk about 6 months ago and she has been much better since. Her poos don't make the whole house stink and we have fewer complaints of tummy ache. Her tummy is less bloated too. Obviously see what the doctor says, and don't cut anything out of her diet without their advice. But for us, the lactose free milk has made a real difference. It has calcium etc like normal milk and tastes virtually the same.

So stop giving her dairy! Bloody hell Hmm

If it's always been like that it could be Celiac disease or a GI disorder.

Have you ever taken her to the doctor about this or will this be the first time?
