Precocious puberty - bone scan

DD saw consultant for possible precocious puberty in March, had blood tests and bone scan but we are still waiting for the blood results. The hospital says the tests have not yet been reviewed.
I only know the thyroid tests were okay and the bone age is 8 years and 10 months. DD was 7 years and 6 weeks when the x- Ray was done. So that is 1 year and 8 months more than her real age.

I am of course trying to get the consultant to review the results but in the meantime has anybody been through something similar and had similar bone age results?

To me that is quite a significant age difference - is it??

There is quite a wide range of variation for bone age. It doesn't generally come down to "normal or abnormal" so much as interpretation in the overall context of the child.
A child who is having a benign early puberty (for example if it runs in the family) will have a bone age ahead of their chronological; it's not a bad thing in itself if there aren't other worrying features.
Hope you don't have to wait too long for the appointment.

Thank you lesurgist, that does make sense.

Hopefully we'll get the test results soon as her apptment was 1st March which seems like a long time ago now Confused
