NC for this as may be outing , my DC has come up in about 10 of these since last thursday, they started as small pimples and now have definitive circles around them. GP comfirmed was not chicken pox, impetigo , bites or ring worm. Have been to the hospital this morning as DC really grumpy and sore, they didn't know what it was and a consultant concluded it is viral, but im not so sure (obviously am not medically trainrd but these answers arent sitting right with me)

hmm I would have said this looks like a tick bite but I'm guessing if that was the case the GP or someone at the hospital would have said so.
What is it that's making you question the Drs? (genuine question - not goady!)

jollyohh · 19/06/2019 13:21

I would say bites but depends were they are on the body

Maryslittlelamb1234 · 19/06/2019 13:30

I think i have questioned it only because my inital thoughts were also a tick , but i mentioned this to both GP.and hospital.and they dismissed it as i have not seen a tic on DC and she has some of the symptons which would make sense! I tend to panic a bit with rashes 🙈

They are on arm and back!

They dismissed it being a tick bite because you didn't actually see the tick? I think I would be questioning that as well actually OP.
It could well be viral but if you really aren't happy with the diagnosis could you go back and see a different GP?
Have you checked her bed? PJ's? Maybe have a look and see if there are any ticks there?

Maryslittlelamb1234 · 19/06/2019 13:45

Yes! Have checked everywhere but cant find any! Thankyou, i may just do that!

My DD was bitten by a tic. - it was minute. Grain of sand size. So just because you didn't see it, doesn't mean there wasn't one. However, I think 10 is unrealistic.

It could easily be some other type of bite though. - how did they rule it out?

Possible allergic reaction. I had similar spots but never found out what caused them.

WatcherOfTheNight · 19/06/2019 13:55

I agree with pp Op ,my immediate thought is tick bite .
Classic bullseye marks ,I'm surprised it's been discounted & would want another opinion.

WatcherOfTheNight · 19/06/2019 13:57

Have you been out & about anywhere she may have been bitten ?

Emmabryant123 · 19/06/2019 20:53

Some kind of allergic reaction?

Maryslittlelamb1234 · 19/06/2019 21:13

Possibly?!? Will just have to keep an eye - as its been a week since the first spot appeared, im hoping it will die down soon.

Ring worm?

Maryslittlelamb1234 · 19/06/2019 21:32

They have said its not ring worm, the middle isnt flat and reminds me of a small nipple?! The rings also didnt appear straight away.
If it is a bite from a tick, is this likely to be serious as have read things about lymes disease and slightly panicking!

I'm not a baby, but I get a bad reaction to mosquito bites like this or horse fly bites, but they are big f@ckers that munch you so it's unlikely you'd have more than 1 of those at a time.

The ring comes up on me after scratching them a bit. I'd check their room for bugs. Turn the light on and then off for a bit, then back on and have a look in the corners and around light fittings.

feelthefearhaveabeer · 19/06/2019 21:55

Most ticks don't carry lymes disease. Ticks bed down, as in they don't bite and release straight away. They suck your blood and grow in size, and then drop off. As a pp said it's a lot of bites so ticks is less likely. Always good to beware.

trixgus · 19/06/2019 22:46

Looks like erythema multiforme- this rash produces target lesions, usually triggered by a viral infection in children.
Multiple target lesions makes Lyme disease very unlikely.

WatcherOfTheNight · 19/06/2019 22:53

Lyme can show as a disseminated rash which looks like multiple bites ,keep a close eye & go back if you are worried.
