One year vaccinations - any tips?

DD has her twelve month vaccinations tomorrow and I'm dreading it. The nurse is so slow, she's glacial, and when we were last in there at six months old for my procedure, she cried as soon as we entered the room so the earlier vaccines seem to have made quite an impression! Any tips for minimising distress to DD?

Maybe try get your daughter to engage with you so shes kept distracted, at least until she feels the needle.. i put on some nursery rhymes on my phone for my son as we walked into the room, he was giggling away. The nurse was also interacting with him so he was ok...until he felt the pain..urgh
It is quite upsetting i know..

There are multiple injections so just hold them tight and get it over with as soon as possible. Distract afterwards.

Be aware that the side effects are delayed to mirror the diseases they are vaccinating against. I was not aware and had a very unsettled sicky baby when we went on holiday 2-3 weeks after the jabs. She had been fine initially.

Thank you. Baby shark on phone then. Urgh, it's so awful.

My dd had hers yesterday.
Be prepared for it to take a while, we had to do the whole measurements etc first (in Scotland though so might vary). I let her have a play until everything was ready which worked. Hold her very tight during. Milk might help during.

Have calpol, my dd's temperature is only just coming down now.

Chocolate buttons or another rarely given treat for immediately afterwards.

I was bloody dreading them, but honestly after a minute dd was absolutely fine. I just cuddled and then popped her in the pram and off we went. Easier than making a big fuss I think.

Good call on the treat. And the calpol. I'm sorry your DD had a temperature @dinosauratemydaffodils, glad it's coming down now.
