Viral rash 5 month old

Ds saw the gp this morning and was diagnosed as having a viral rash (she thought Hmm). He's on antihistamines and calpol. No other major symptoms other than trouble sleeping and general grumpiness. The medicine seems to be making him a bit spaced out.
He started weaning this week, he's had avocado, banana, sweet potato and some baby rice so far. Gp said the rash doesn't look allergy related though.
I'm worried and just wanted reassurance/advice really please. (Pfb)

Can you post a picture of the rash for us to have a look at?

I was going to start my own thread about this.

I have an 11 month old (almost), he started teething about 6 weeks ago, we noticed some red spots dotted around his torso. They have got progressively worse up to now. I am convinced it is to do with his teething.

He doesn't seem to be in any distress, they don't seem to itch... and they disappear when pressed with a glass.

The general advice is if none of the above apply, then it's a viral thing and all you can really do is wait until it clears up on its own, as baby's immune system us just starting to build up from almost scratch. I just wanted to see if any other people have experienced this?

Hi, he still has it, it clears for a couple of hours after the antihistamines, then gradually worsens. He's otherwise fine. It looks just like prickly heat/ washing powder rash.
