Is this because of 1 year immunisations?

My DD had her 1 year immunisations last Tuesday at 10am. She was fine all day and the next, she has gradually been going off her food. She's usually a big eater, but everyday eating less and less. Yesterday she wouldn't eat anything but was taking milk, today she won't even take her milk. She is drinking water but not much, I have found if I add a splash of squash she will drink more.
She's also got a tooth coming through.
Yesterday I phoned NHS 24 and explained and they said to take her to the hospital, her fingers and toes turned blue. She was checked over and everything was fine, they said it was just a viral infection. Last night through the night she was sick twice but not alot. She is moaning almost constantly, dribbling like crazy, isn't sleeping well and she is really hot all the time. She has now started to refuse Calpol too. I was advised to just keep her topped up with Calpol.

So my question is, is this from the immunisations, did this happen to anyone else and how long did it last for. I'm so worried because she's really hot and won't eat, I know they say if they are taking fluids then it's ok but I'm also exhausted and I feel like i can't do anything right for her. I'm also a single mum so I'm feeling even more stressed as I don't have anyone to reassure me she is fine, she is my first baby so I have no experience. I read the leaflet given when she had the jags but the HV said if I was worried to call up NHS 24 or see the GP, but I don't want to keep doing this and wasting time. If anyway can reassure me she'll be fine soon and share their experience that would be great. TIA.

Bumping for you OP.

My DD had the classic high temp after 10 days when the measles bit of the MMR kicked in. Her temp went to 40.8 and was only coming down to 38.5 with paracetamol and ibuprofen so I took her to the GP just to get her checked over and confirm there was nothing else I should be doing. I'd have been happy enough with a phone call with a GP or nurse tbh, but the receptionist said they'd want to see her.

If you're not happy, maybe call your surgery and see what they say? If you do see a GP, explain that you're not sure when to seek treatment and when not, and ask them what you should be looking out for over the next few days. That way when the symptoms change, you'll feel a bit more confident in your judgement.

I'm sure you're doing a wonderful job, it's easy to doubt yourself but you're caring for her as best you can without a medical degree! It's a funny age, isn't it. I'm struggling a bit with what to do when she's sick atm - not really a baby so don't need to panic over everything, but not big enough to tell me what's wrong either.

Hope things ease soon, it's rotten when they're ill. Flowers

This sounds more like teething to me. If her gums hurt, she'd eat less. We get the dribbling and temperature with teeth as well. Try her with finger foods and see if she prefers hard food e.g. carrots.

Alternate calpol and ibuprofen for a couple of days and see how she gets on. I don't think she needs the GP as yet.

Hi how is she now? I've similar queries about what's going on with my son who had the jab 8 days ago.

@TackyTriceratops I've been to the doctor 3 times, as this is how the 8th day that my DD isn't right. She now has blisters all around the inside and outside of her mouth so is screaming in pain when eating, now she actually wants to eat. Doctor has given me 3 different diagnosis 1. Hand foot and mouth disease 2. Cold sore virus 3. Viral infection. Only yesterday did they actually give me any sort of medicine to help her after I cried and said there must be something they can do.
So I literally have no idea if this is because of her jags or if a mixture of everything, the doctor doesn't even seem to know. Hope your little one is ok

Oh my gosh! That does sound like hand foot and mouth. I remember ibuprofen was better for the pain with that.

I had to alternate calpol and ibuprofen so they covered one another but kept within the right dosage over 24 hours of that makes sense.

Hope she's better soon.

@TackyTriceratops I think it's hand food and mouth too. I have been doing exactly that, the antibiotics seem to be helping too, the blisters are scabbing over so I hope that means they're healing. Thank you!
