Bumped head long nap

My toddling ten month old fell from sofa surfing today, landed on knees and forarms but forehead also hit wooden floor. Red mark that is only very slightly raised and cried for less than a minute and was easily distracted by cuddles and toys. That was at 8am. Went down nicely for 9.30 nap and is still asleep 2hours and 10 minutes later which is longer than normal. Should I be concerned?

When I say sofa surfing I mean stood up against sofa not fallen off sofa

I’d probably wake him if he was mine, and I was a bit worried.

I’m sure he is ok, but at least if he is awake you can tell if he is drowsy or his normal self.

I’ve had some awful bumps with my four, and it’s surprising how strong the they are, but it does cause worry.

With this kind of thing I don't think that advice from the internet is ever going to be a good idea. You could call 111 for advice? They will err on the side of sending a small child with a bumped head for medical attention, but at least you'll never be sitting there later on wondering if you did the right thing. Or can you call the GP?

I would wake him now. He’s had a good nap. You can then check that he’s his normal self and can have a snack or some lunch. My boys had some pretty cracking knocks on the head and were fine. They are quite tough but if he vomits or you are worried get someone to look at him.

Meant to add I'm sure he's ok too, you just don't want to haVe to be worrying about the what ifs

Sounds positive. He’s nice and happy, so sure is fine, but you are doing the right thing calling up Smile
