So my 2.5 year old DS has chicken pox
I'm a first time mum so this is my first experience with chicken pox

I'm just after a bit of advice or tips on how to keep him comfortable
And to help the dreaded itching
He's covered from head to toe Sad

Virasoothe is meant to be really good. Friends have recommended it to me but luckily DS hasn’t had them yet.

My son just needed liquid piriton. as soon as he took it he had no desire to scratch. that is all we used

Portion, calpol, ibruprofen, oat baths.

DO NOT USE IBUPROFEN!! it reacts with the chicken pox and makes them go deeper! Calpol is fine.

SpideyMom · 29/05/2019 11:25

definitely NOT ibuprofen! It will make them go deeper. Do not use

Cool bath, lotions with oats in them. Distraction works wonders too - put on their favourite shows

Can definitely recommend virasooth, much better than calamine lotion, definitely piriton especially at bed time as it makes them slightly drowsy so helps stop the itch from waking them as much, cool bath with oats inside the foot of a tight held under the running tap. Plenty or distraction and calpol xx

Poxclin really helped us.
