Is this a verruca?

Dd has had it for a while, I’ve been putting Wartner on it but she is so squeamish and won’t let me file it or anything. I can just about bribe her every couple of weeks or so to peel off the skin that needs removing but she won’t let me do any more, won’t keep banana peel on or ACV on cotton wool. She’s a nightmare!

Yes it looks like it

fedup21 · 20/05/2019 18:45

Yup.

I tried loads of things on DD’s one, but in the end just painting it with nail polish every night for a week worked!

No pain either!

It’s just bigger than I can remember mine ever being!

I have nail polish. Is any particular colour required? Might try that as well tonight when she goes up.

I found dabbing neat Tea Tree Oil got rid of all my DD's veruccas pretty quickly with no pain. You just need a tiny bit, every night, just as they are getting into bed so as not to wipe it off by walking on it.

I used ACV on my daughter's veruccas. We used one of those plasters with a hole in it, soaked a piece of cotton wool in ACV and then placed a waterproof plaster on top. Every few days we dug out the grotty bits. The plaster and ACV was replaced daily. It was bit painful to begin with but then settled. It took about two months for the biggest, deepest one to go and the smaller ones went within a week. We'd tried all of the shop bought remedies, filling etc but this was the only thing that worked and they haven't returned.

My dd had one on her foot like that - we tried everything, nothing worked, was getting more painful and so our GP offered to freeze it. 3 sessions and it simply dropped off a few days after the last session.

Yes it's quite a large one, (my dad was a chiropodist lol). Try a chiropodist, they offer treatments for verrucas which are better than otc ones if they're not working.

Ouch. When we've used bazuka we found the soaking was a really important part of the treatment. If you keep going with the soaking and reapplying regularly, the skin will come off in layers even if you don't file it much. I think keeping the treated area small really helps to reduce the pain. I cut a tiny hole in a strip of plaster tape to protect the surrounding skin and put a second plaster on top.

@xSharonNeedlesx
The very best scientifically proven remedy with no pain, no side effect is duct tape, the grey serial killer type.
It worked every time on DD2 , after trying the remedies, acid and filing which would cause pain and worsening.
The science is here. nutritionfacts.org/video/can-you-really-remove-warts-with-duct-tape/

Cut a piece of tape, cover the verruca and leave it for a week. IF it comes off after shower or pool, put a new one back on.
Once I had no duct tape and put electrical tape, worked as well. Needs to be very thick and cover a bit of the healthy skin as well
