Hi can anyone recommend something for my daughters scalp please, it's been like this for years, doctors just prescribe medicated shampoos etc and nothing works, she has no scabs or clusters, but when you rub her scalp lots of skin spreads in her hair, looking like lice eggs but it's not Iv had it checked lots of times, in fact I wonder if I may have caused the irritation by applying head lice solution a long time ago thinking it was lice eggs, I'm not sure 🤷🏻‍♀️ I try not to wash it often but her scalp gets quite oily, even if I brush her hair it causes flakes like dust throughout her hair, please see pics, I only use mild baby shampoos now I have tried simple but reverted to a baby one but still the same, I have applied aqueous cream to her scalp and left it over night but no joy, she does have mild eczema

this was the only thing that helped my dds head link. it got rid of all the white flaking stuff (dandruff). afterwards she used this conditioner x

The only thing that has ever sorted out my flakes and itchy scalp is body shop ginger shampoo and conditioner.

Child's Farm is great and for eczema x

Her hair sounds like mine. My mum used T-Gel on me when I was a child and it made no difference. Nothing worked until a few months ago I tried Head & Shoulders Supreme shampoo and conditioner and for the first time in my life, I have no flakes.

I have been using the child's farm shampoos but had no joy and Iv tried t gel, I just don't know why it's still so bad we use no hair products, so I'm thinking is there something for eczema I could use to leave on her hair all night like a treatment cream for the scalp.

@FogCutter was about to recommend the same thing. Another recommendation for body shop ginger shampoo and conditioner. We live in the Middle East and the water quality is not so good - this shampoo and conditioner has worked wonders on DD9's hair

Thanks il definitely give it a go and see if any improvements x

Head and shoulders itchy scalp is another one - was going to recommend T Gel too.

IWannaSeeHowItEnds · 03/05/2019 20:45

I'm shamelessly place marking as my DD has the same. I've used dentinox shampoo for cradle cap and am currently using head and shoulders. Will buy the body shop ginger one and have a go.

Yes I will try pick some up over the weekend, Iv just massaged some weleda skin food cream into her scalp for now and leaving it over night, it works great for her eczema,

Definitely T gel. It can be left on for 2-3 minutes as a treatment. Do this regularly to keep flaking at bay but use only this shampoo for normal hair washing in between too.

Lush have a shampoo bar which is really good for this. I can't remember the name but they will definitely be able to advise.

Also, I'm not sure what age your child is and if you've already tried it but I've used Nizoral very successfully in the past for this problem.

Nizoral
