Antibiotics for bite?

Picked DC up from school and teacher told me he had been bitten by another child. This was an accident whilst playing a sport. It's basically 2 very small puncture wounds. DS said it bled and teacher washed it out. Said to keep an eye on it in case of infection as lots of bacteria in human months. I looked on nhs website which said no need to seek medical advice if minor bite but later on says ask for antibiotics if skin broken. Puncture wounds are very small but skin has been broken so fits both criteria at the same time. Now I'm confused! Anyone with any knowledge who can advise? I feel embarrassed to go to GP with something so little but also don't want to risk DS getting an infection. And then i also start thinking of over use of antibiotics...

I don't know if this is helpful but when I worked with children I was bitten by one of them. My GP gave me a tetanus jab and a course of antibiotics. The skin was only slightly broken my my bite too.

Watch out for the area becoming inflamed and itchy but he should be fine keep it clean obviously .

He should be covered with tetanus if he is vaccinated .

He’ll have had tetanus shot in general vaccinations. I wouldn’t give it another thought unless it flares up angry and red later.

Yeah I wouldn't be overly concerned either .

Ok thanks everyone I appreciate all the replies. I think I'll just dress it and keep an eye.
