Conjunctivitis or Peri orbital cellulitis

My DD 19mnths has had a cold about 1P days now and 3 days ago started getting very mucousy eyes and crusting over when they weep.
Took her to the docs who recommended eye drops but also said if the redness or swelling got worse it could be Peri orbital cellulitis.
The eye drops seem to be controlling the mucous (or its just settled down on its own), but both eyes do seem swollen. Shes only been on the eye drops 2 days and does seem herself, no temperature.
But obviously now I'm just feeling a bit twitchy about POC as I know it can make little ones quite ill quite fast.
Should I call 111 for a second opinion from OOH Dr or wait till Monday for normal appt? She's definitely my PFB but I don't want to waste anyone's time.
Any help appreciated.

My ds had peri orbital cellulitis at 19 months (he's now a teenager). He ended up in hospital for 5 days on iv antibiotics. I had seen a gp and had been given oral antibiotics for him but she said we must come back if it worsened. We went back the next day as it was much worse and a different gp told us to wait 48hrs, I didn't and took him to a and e within an hour of the consultation.

I would definitely say if you are concerned to seek further advice. Ds was very poorly alongside the swollen eye and I was told he had a blood infection when he was admitted. Its much better to get her checked than her ending up really poorly.

Are eyelids puffy or swollen? Is it one or both eyes?

I would say if you are worried phone 111. And don’t panic too much. You are aware of it and will react to any changes. And it is easily treated with ab’s.

Doesn’t mean I don’t get terrified ever time DS eyes are a bit puffy!

There's nothing to lose by calling 111 if you're worried, but is very unusual for pre-orbital cellulitis to affect both eyes and children also have a temperature (over 38).

It's more likely to be a viral conjunctivitis from the cold she's had.
