Is there a condition that looks like chicken pox but isn't?

My 3 yo daughter came home from the childminder yesterday with blister type spots, just a few dotted all over her body, today there is a few more.
She has had chicken pox a couple years ago when her brothers all had it.
She's off colour and not wanting to eat or play, she's woken up the past few nights crying that her tummy hurts but that could be anything because she says her tummy hurts whenever she's feeling generally unwell.
Is there an illness that looks like chicken pox type spots but isn't chickenpox?

Hand foot and mouth.

Molluscum contagiosum?

BumbleBeeWineGlass · 12/04/2019 12:23

It's not on her hands/feet or mouth, it's on her neck/torso and legs/bottom and face cheeks.

Another vote for hand foot and mouth. AFAIK they get the spots everywhere except trunk of the body, including hands and feet, unlike chicken pox which does cover trunk of the body.
That's what I was told when my son had it, otherwise (to my eye) it looked just like chicken pox

Pictures if it helps

Could still be chicken pox or shingles. If she was young, under the age of 12 months etc they don't always build up immunity. I had chicken pox at 6 months old and then shingles as a child, as did my friend's son a few years ago.

My son has had chicken pox in three occasions, as did my dad. Apparently 1% of the population don't make the antibody so can get it multiple times. (That's what I was told by the immunologist)

Sorry, crossed posts! Doesn't sound like hf&m then.

There has been loads of kids with CP at nursery so maybe that's it. Sad

You can definitely get chicken pox more than once it's just very rare so maybe your lo is just one of the unlucky ones. This time round might be mild for her if she had a bad dose of it last time.

DS (10) had a pox like rash (which looked like multiple versions of your photo), I thought it was insect bites at first but took him to GP when they blistered and GP diagnosed a non specific viral illness. DS had cold like symptoms a couple of days prior to rash appearing and GP said that's when he would have been contagious. Chicken pox was doing the rounds at the time but DS had had CP really badly as a toddler and GP thought it unlikely it was that again. Was very itchy and bit painful but settled within a couple of days. Paracetamol and anti histamines helped soothe itch and soreness.
