Clonic tonic seizure

My son suffered a huge seizure yesterday-his first one. At moment we don’t know if it’s viral/bacterial or epilepsy of some kind.
He’s had bouts of belching and feeling sick with headaches and funny de ja vu type feelings for a yeR - written off as anxiety /over stimulation by the dr as he also has a asd diagnosis and lots of adhd symptoms though we haven’t assessed for that.
He’s regained consciousness and is less confused but hasn’t stopped vomiting yet- we aren’t sure if that’s a reaction to the anti convulsant they have in the ambulance, a virus, or due brain activity
I’m seeing dr on the ward round at 9 the. He’s booked I’m for eeg today and mri tomorrow. Is there any advice from others with experience and especially anything I should ask or check?

I have epilepsy. I was fine then suddenly had two tonic clinic seizures at 31years old. The EEG taken soon after showed epilepsy. Confirmed on mri by fluid and scarring on parts of my brain!! Was a total shock and life changing. However I soon got used to the diagnosis. And life was just more structured. I had to make sure I ate and hydrated myself enough..slept too when tired. Simple things but can make such a difference.

I felt horrid for days after my siezures. It takes it out of your body. It’s like a massive gym session on every muscle group all at the same time. Also the dizziness and nausea is hardcore. Like you’re walking through treacle. It does improve though. Slowly but surely.

Please let me know how the tests go. Massive hugs for you too. It’s awful for the family member looking on. My dh and ds (aged 9 at the time) found me. They were v traumatised for ages afterwards.

Take care Flowers
