Hi, I have posted in the past about issues my daughter was having but recently she has been pre-diagnosed with Ocular Motor Apraxia by an ophthalmologist.
They done a range of tests on her and found that she couldn't really move her eyes sideways, although sometimes we see a little bit of movement but it’s hard to tell.

From what i have read this condition can also lead to development delays which she does also have, she is now 17 months old and still won't fully roll over or crawl at all, she doesn't take her weight well if you try to stand her up as well.

She is booked to see a neurologist soon and also had a brain mri booked as well to confirm this is the issue and nothing else is wrong.

She is under physio who sees her weekly, they have also taught the staff in her nursery how to do exercises with her.

Can anyone tell me any more information that i may not be aware of as well as what can we expect regarding this condition as she grows older.
Will she eventually catch up to the other children around her for example, will it just take a little longer or will she always be behind?
Will she walk eventually or can this condition actually stop the ability to walk depending on what is wrong in the brain?

Is she likely to eventually lead a pretty normal life as she gets older?

Apart from her ocular apraxia and her physical development, she is doing very well in all other areas, her communication is coming along very well, she babbles all day long and says a good few words, she really tried to say most words back to you if you keep saying things to her over.

She is very social and loves saying hiya to everyone and is just very happy in general.

Thanks

James

Hey, not sure if you'll see this....but just wondering how things went for you? My 23 month old has suspected OMA and she still isn't walking, talking etc.
