Anyone know what this rash could be? Two courses of antibiotics haven't shifted it.

DD developed a rash two weeks ago. It started on her thigh and has now spread to her arms, back and legs. She's seen the GP twice and has had two different courses of antibiotics prescribed, plus Fucidin cream, but it's just not going.

I will book another GP appointment for her, but wondered if anyone has any ideas as to what it could be. The GP thought it was impetigo, but I'm not so sure.

The big patch on her elbow was originally a graze from falling over playing football. It seems like the rash has infected the graze, and now the wound is weeping and sore / itchy.

She's fine in herself - just uncomfortable as the spots are very itchy.

Ideas appreciated.

Could it be molloscum? Not sure how it looks if it gets in an open wound but it’s itchy and spreads to those areas. And doesn’t respond to treatment.

molluscum Don't burst them as its the liquid which is so infectious and spreads it across the body.
Own towel and no sharing of clothes until it's cleared up. Unfortunately it can take up to 18 months as new ones appear as others disappear.

I am no expert but it looks like psoriasis on her actual elbows

Scabies?

It looks like it could be Impetigo.

Sorry, I can see you mentioned impetigo in your first post. My niece had impetigo when she was about 2 or 3, looked very similar to your DD's. It took a couple of courses of antibiotics to clear hers up, it is very contagious.

Molluscum on her leg. Looks like she's been scratching and spreading it.

Keep it clean, try teatree oil or 8 hour cream?

She has eczema with molluscum contagiosum on top. Poor girl, very annoying. The plaque on the elbow looks psoriatic but not enough to diagnose by itself.
Treat gently, don't rub, keep skin moisturised, and stop going to whoever gave you antibiotics! It takes 9-36 months to clear, highly contagious from towels, baths etc. Annoying but harmless. Only way to speed that up is to excise the viral cores but I would not do that for a kid with active eczema.

I would ask for bactroban for the crusted elbow areas
