Child with reoccurring blood when pooing

My dd1(8) has had red blood in her stools on and off for about 4 years. It only happens every few months and isn't a lot. Its generally on the poo in the toilet. We've seen the doctor about it and it's been put down to constipation. She does huge poos and does say they are hard to get out. She has been on movicol for 5 months now as a test to see of it happens while she is taking this medication. I've had trouble lately with my bowels 🙄 so it's started me thinking again. Is this normal for it to reoccur like this? I worry about polyps in the bowel but I gather that's quite rare really. Any advice? I'm a worrier so it bothers me from time you time.
Thanks

Not on enough movicol. Needs to be on enough movicol to easily be passing soft poo, with no pain, every day. May actually need a disimpaction/clear out regime first.

1)Read it up on eric.org.uk
2)Go back to your GP, and if they won't help, demand a referral to a paediatrician.

This is total bread and butter general paediatrics to sort out: we see loads of undertreated constipation.

Thank you for replying. We did the 'clear out' last year and then went in to one sachet a day. Perhaps I should up that.

Roughly speaking, in recovery phase, usually need whatever amount of movicol gives soft squidgy poo (think about scrambled egg consistency)

Ok scrambled eggs it is!! 😁
Thank you, you seem very knowledgeable 👍
