3 year old loose stomach

Not a poo troll, just a regular person with questions of a lavatorial nature. Well, nappies actually.

My son has just turned 3. He's still in nappies but we're gradually encouraging potty usage. That's not really relevant, but it sets the scene.

My question)issue is that since day 1 I don't think he's ever done a solid poo, except maybe if he's not had very much to drink that day. He's in a picky eating phase now, but when he was first eating he would try everything and still it was loose poo.

Any ideas what to try? Or is it a job for pharmacy/GP?

He's generally well, is a chubby, stocky kid, 75th centile on the WHO charts, so I'm not concerned that he's wasting away, and this is why I haven't really done anything about it so far, but it does need to be addressed, ideally soon, before potty training really kicks in.

He has got more fussy of late; he does favour fruit, dairy and carbs (bread and pasta) over vegetables, which we're working on. He likes sweet stuff, which I limit, but I suspect he gets plenty of treats when at his grandparents', which is several times a week. He was ebf for 6 months, then I introduced food and cows milk but did supplementary bf at bedtime/night until 22 months. No issues there with lactose or any other allergies or intolerances, it's just never firmed up...

Thanks in advance for any advice/ideas.

No real answer, but following along. My 2 year old also has loose stools (they were firmer for a few months after solids started, but have been consistently loose for 4+ months again) I did speak to a health visitor about it and she seemed to think it is nothing to worry about since there are no other health issues, that it is just a variation of ‘normal’. She said that she would have been concerned if it was constantly changing.
