Abdominal migraines

Hi, I'm new on here and this is my first post so hope it is in the right place. I have a 13 year old DS who has been suffering with abdominal migraines for 5 years. In the last 6 months they have increased to the point that we have had to remove him from school as he has been too unwell to go. He was put on Propranolol but this did not work and he has now started on Pizotifen. He is struggling to cope with the the pain and nothing we give him relieves the pain. We are trying healthy eating and exercise and are trying to keep him stress free but are at a loss at what to try next. We are in the doctors every week. To say we are getting desperate would be an understatement. Any help, advice would be much appreciated.

Hi!
I have no real answer to this but wanted to reply as my 10Yr old DD has just been diagnosed with AM or at least that's what the GP thinks it is,a week ago&has put her on Pitzotifen one a day for 3-6 months to see if it helps then stop it&see what happens.
Hers seems to be related to 'special occasions' so when she gets exited or anxious&/or her sleep patterns are disrupted.
I was going to put my own post about it on here.
I hope u get some help.

We have the same diagnosis for DS (12), he has been taking 3 x Pizotifen for about a year but he is still losing a day a week of school so I am going to discontinue this as it clearly isn't the solution.
Just this week I have noticed his new pillow case is discoloured with either drool or sweat ( not using any topical creams) so I have a new theory re stomach acid. As a baby (overseas) he was diagnosed with silent reflux so now I am concerned about damage to his stomach.
I can see a grey pallor when he has stomach pains but I also think it is an easy get out clause for him. Every mornings it is a battle to get him out of bed but there is that sense of guilt of how bad is the pain.
I do think anxiety plays a part but I am desperate for a solution.
