6 y.o. sudden noise aversion and feeling sick

Hi. I'm worried about my 6 y.o. DS who has had two episodes this evening of not being able to tolerate any noise at all, getting very agitated and upset and claiming he feels sick.

The first time he recovered after about 30 minutes and then carried on about his business without a care in the world. Four hours on, same thing.

He kept going for a wee even though he didnt really seem to need to. Again was saying his tummy felt sick. He's just laid down in his bed and gone to sleep now.

He is a bad patient at the best of times and won't let me help him, but I think because all sound is bothering him, he didnt want me talking to him :-(

Any ideas what this could be? I was wondering if it might be migraine? Nobody in family gets these so I don't know anything much about them.

How is he now OP? I believe children do complain of sore stomachs and feeling sick when they have a migraine. I get migraines and can't bear any noise or anyone near me, and just want to sleep. I hope he's OK.

Thanks Glitterblue. He was still off-form yesterday, didn't really eat, but nothing major and he seems fine again today. Thanks for letting me know about your experience, it does sound similar. I'll keep an eye on him, but hopefully it was an isolated incident.

Yes, I thought migraine too before I got to the end of the description. Definitely worth a routine appointment with the GP if it happens again, wee soul. I'm not sure what the treatment options are for children of his age, maybe a chat with a pharmacist?

My brother had them young, that's very similar to his description of them back then.

As an adult, I need to lie in cool, dark, quiet rooms with no screens on, an ice pack for my head and my pills. A mum stroking my forehead would be amazing! Grin so I'm sure he'd appreciate that too.
