Baby dropping feeds at 10 weeks

I need some advice. I'm booking a GP appointment for dd as I'm concerned her reflux isnt being managed by her current medications. Is on a prescribed formula and was taking this well but since her jags last week she now sleeps through the night. Skips her night feeds too but doesn't take enough ounces over 24hr period compared to what she did take before her jags. Used to feed before midnight then around 4 and up at 8 but now she will go to sleep at 7 or 8 and will not eat for around 12-14 hours. I believe reflux is interfering with daytime ounces but did anyone else's baby sleep through at 10 weeks for 12 hours. Any advice or experiences would be great but I've tried waking her up after 6 hours and tried dream feeding etc but she's not interested and sleeps through. I've changed her in middle of night which usually she hates but she sleeps through an wouldn't take bottle after. During the day is happy in herself and curious/smiles, lots of wet nappies and I know people may say not to waken a sleeping baby but I'm at my wit's end with a decrease in intake and dropping all night feeds.

How much is she taking in 24 hours? What weight is she? Is she gaining weight?

Samind · 21/02/2019 17:37

She's gained over 4lbs from birth an has stayed on the 25th centile as is her growth line. It ranges from 16oz-22oz (at a push with lots of wasted bottles and distraction) but before that she'd of taken over 24oz everyday no issue. Just at a bit of a loss tbh.

She's about 11lb now.

Its quite normal for intake to fluctuate. Mine would increase feeds for a wee while and then they would decide to drop what they wanted. They have regular growth spurts and get hungrier and then go back to normal. She's not taking that little really so I wouldn't worry too much

My eldest slept through at 6 weeks. He was breastfed he did feed well during the day.

Seems a bit low. The doctors told me it needs to be a minimum of 2oz per body weight per day, up to 2.5oz. So 11lbs should be a minimum of 22oz daily. I feel for you, DS has gone off eating this week unexpectedly and we're counting every ounce.

Will she sleep feed if offered? I feed DS four ounces at midnight in his cot while he's asleep. Don't wind him after as per doctor's instructions. He also has reflux but at night it isn't an issue because the stomach and esophagus relax apparently.

It's so frustrating isn't it!?! Feel like pulling my hair out but she just sits and smiles and coos at me during the day so it's confusing in a sense. Just can't understand the dropping all night feeds an sleeping 12 hours through night after these jags. She won't dream feed I've tried an tried gently waking her; stroking feet an face etc but she has no intention to suck my finger and appears rather irritated that I've tried to waken her. I don't want her to be disrupted if this is her sleep pattern but it is making me so anxious!! The day feeds are different she will take 6oz at first feed as she hadn't eaten all night but after that it's dribs an drabs and sneaking ounces in til she'll take a bigger feed an I do think it's her reflux as she is starting to display similar behaviours again. Wish she could just talk to me lol I've been back an forth with doctors for reflux as gaviscon badly constipated her an then onto ranitidine which was upped last week but has had no great effect.

She's had more ounces tonight so this is the most in the last week and she's happy an settled Smile
