Croup

DD has been diagnosed with spasmodic croup (at night) she is 2. She also has viral wheeze on clenil and salbutamol daily. She has coughed constantly all day i.e. No break every 30 seconds. Tried inhaler, fresh air to no avail. Do I take her in? 111? Any advice appreciated!

Take her to the doctors as an emergency. It's the right time of night for croup, but better to be safe.

My thoughts but not v doubtful I'll get in now to see the GP...

Just to add she's had one dose of steroids on Monday night

Another vote for taking her in. I only found out recently how dangerous croup can be, I assumed it was fairly harmless but it isn't.

Thanks bizarrely she settled into quite a slow coughing pattern overnight but has woken up pretty distressed so called 111 and waiting for a nurse to call back.

Could it be to do with the viral wheeze??
Good luck. Let us know what they say. I suspect you’ll need to go in for assessment. Thinking of you

I hate croup, good luckxx

Croup sucks. My 2 kids have both had it several times.

We have steroid tablets in the house for the worst of the symptoms. We got these from our doctor the last couple of times.

Thanks everyone - spoken to the nurse we're seeing the doctor at 10:45am. Hopefully we can get another dose prescribed
