Sorry if this is a bit tmi or upsetting. But I'm really worried about my three year old. She has some worrying symptoms and wondered if anyone has any experience of them.

She's been really lethargic, vomiting, she's gone off of her food and drink. Yesterday she had a white poo and today it was really pale with some bloody mucus in it. I'm taking her to the doctor's tomorrow.

She's fine playing one minute but almost falling asleep the next. I'm out of my mind with worry and have a really bad feeling. I don't know what to do. Google hasn't helped.

Have you given calpol? As i find when the calpol kicks in my two perk right up and then when it wears off they look on deaths door again. Sorry I dont have any similar experience but my kids have had some weird symptoms sometimes and 111 have always been great pointing me in the right direction when I'm very worried!

"some bloody mucus in it". She could have a all sorts of problems that have caused bleeding, if in her intestines then its not too much to imagine she could get infection etc into her blood stream which could very likely cause vomiting & lethargic behaviour.

You would be better off taking her to the hospital, better to waste there time and nothing to worry about, than wait and something goes badly wrong. You would never forgive yourself if that happened. Or if your in UK, trying ringing the NHS 111 and talk to them first.

Yes ring 111

JellycatElfie · 13/02/2019 21:24

Is she still vomiting? I would go to the accident and emergency department or ring 111 at the very least.

MeganJPerry · 13/02/2019 21:24

Another thought, has she swallowed anything that may have caused some damage or had some nasty stuff in it?

Haworthia · 13/02/2019 21:25

This is gross but did you take photos of the weird stools? That might be useful evidence for a doctor.

Jackshouse · 13/02/2019 21:26

How lethargic? I would be in a and e now.

LurkinMerkin · 13/02/2019 22:11

How long has this been going on? It could be an intolerance to a food, it could be something else but google won’t do any good for your stress levels. . The lethargy could be to do with hydration levels and low energy due to being off her food. The GP is absolutely the right call if she’s not displaying actue signs needing emergency treatment. Is she managing to drink anything at all? If not and she’s still vomiting I’d ring 111 for advice now. If they advise waiting for your GP appointment, if you are able to bring a stool sample with you to the GP in a clean jar/tub this will help. Let us know how things go. Good luck xx

Take her to A& E. I have literally never said that before and with a take of kids of my own have never visited A&E or OOH, but I don’t like the sound of those poos.

MotherOfDragonite · 13/02/2019 22:25

If you have a really bad feeling, trust it and go and have her looked at. Nobody ever minds checking a child even if it turns out to be something minor -- they'd always rather see them and check.

Auntiepatricia · 14/02/2019 08:03

How is she @Mummymumm?

Footle · 14/02/2019 16:44

Pale poo and dark urine could be a liver problem. Hope she's seen a doctor now.

Gina2012 · 14/02/2019 16:46

How is she?

justasking111 · 14/02/2019 16:49

She needs to be seen, do not think they will be judgemental at the hospital.
