What should I ask dr...19month old

My ds is 19mth. He started nursery in July. In those 7 months he has had a vomit bug 5 times. 3 weeks off between me and dh. Eldest has missed over a weekly school since Sept as he has caught it. 2/5 timeouts been passed on to one parent and 2 siblings.

My question is this.

I have private medical through work. I have a gp apptment next friday.

I honestly think it's germs and a nanny is the solution but have this niggling feeling need to cover all bases and also worried for him.

Want would you be asking the dr for?

Blood work for allergies, infection, immunity, deficiency?

I clearly am not medical so no idea if what i have written makes any sense.

Just fed up and now getting anxious about his health.

Any suggestions about what to ask doctor?
Nursery saga is a diff thread from months ago.

Apologies for typos. Holding him atm.

It's horrible when they are ill and if you need reassuring then get him checked out but honestly the first year of starting nursery can be horrendous. My boy started at 9 months and for the first full term nursery would phone me at work every week to pick him up. Anything going in nursery he picked it up. You might just need to ride it out as your little ones immune system gets stronger.

Sounds normal for the first winter in nursery.

Thank you.

I agree. Maybe I have just been lucky with my other 2 as my eldest didn't get a bug until 2.5yr and middle child until 3.75yrs when her baby brother brought it home!

Just never ending - it's been monthly since November.

I think I'll go and ask to be reassured and also because I am pretty sure it's germs then I can again ask nursery why their policy is 24 not 48 hours as they just tell me something is wrong with him....

Aaah!

Thanks

Can I ask how you got on at the Dr's? My 17 month old is constantly off nursery with one bug or another. It's miserable for her being ill all the time. I was wondering if the GP would just be dismissive though.

We had a lot to deal with when he started nursery. One virus after another, lots of time of work.
He turned 2 and was like a different child.
For him he just needed time to get his immune system sorted.
He is so much better now.
He was worse than my eldest. A lot worse
