DD (10) throat infection/heavy cold

Last Monday morning, she woke with a temp of nearly 39 - straight to GP, throat red raw. 10 days of antibiotics prescribed.
Heavy, heavy cold came out 3 days later. She's still not right. Still needing to sleep a lot, off her food, weepy now and again. Not due to finish meds until later this week. She's asleep in my bed again now.
Obviously I don't want her to miss any more school but I can't send her while she's still poorly?
Any advice much appreciated

I would keep her at home until she feels better and is eating and drinking normally. I work in a school and if your child is under the weather we will contact you to check on them or send them home if ill. Tonsillitis can take up to 2 weeks to get better as it is a serious infection that can turn into blood poisoning if not treated ( I speak from experience)! I usually work on a plus one day rule with my kids so that if your feeling better you have an extra day at home before you go back to recharge your batteries. Hope your child feels better soon

Just keep in touch with school to let them know how poorly she is (I'm a teacher) I hope she's better soon

Don't worry, no one knows better than you what she needs, carry on with the TLC and don't worry about school.

Thanks for you both!
