Advice with possible appendicitis

My DD went to school yesterday no problem but when I picked her up she hadn’t eaten her lunch and said her tummy was sore on and off all day at school.
But she came home and played and seemed perky enough.
6pm she didn’t want her dinner because her tummy was too sore and her temp was up at 39. I gave her calpol and she lay on the couch for a while until I put her to bed at 8pm.
1am she awoke with bad stomach ache and high temp so I brought her into bed with me and gave her some more calpol. Then at 4am she woke up with bad pain again and vomited. Her temp was normal but she was saying she could feel her pulse and it was very fast despite no temp.
I phoned OOH and was seen at 6am. DD struggles to get downstairs and walk with the pain.
The GP felt her tummy and she winced when he was pressing down, but he listened in with his stethoscope and said her tummy was noisy so he diagnosed her with a viral infection and said just to keep an eye on her.
She has perked up a bit this morning and had a little toast.
But my question is if this was an appendicitis would the pain subside this morning and possibly come back? I read online that the pain can come and go but not sure of the timescale. Any advice appreciated.
I have had to come to work today so she is with her gran having a lay on the couch.

My understanding is that serious stomach pain stays in one spot and grows from there. Less serious pain (viruses and gas etc) moves around. Just remember you can take her back for another check up if you are concerned. Appendicitis develops, it doesnt just go from 0 to 100% in 10 mins.

The text book presentation of appendicitis is with pain that starts as generalised abdo pain and becomes localised to the right lower abdomen with time. Not everyone behaves like this though. Bowel sounds may or may not be normal. Some people can eat, some people can't. Early appendicitis isn't that easy to diagnose (like the early stages of many illnesses!). Bottom line is that if you don't think she's getting better or think that is actively getting worse she needs looking at again. Hope she's on the mend soon.

She was a lot better this avo at her grannys house, but when I got home and made dinner she didn’t want any and has started saying at about half 7 again that her tummy is sore, and she’s feeling like she wants to be sick again.
