Worms again! Did you tell your dc?

Dd has worms again - third time in the last 2 years so I'm guessing she is bringing them home from school. Only because she's been there 2 years...

I know how to treat them and all th housework to do but my question is...did you tell your dc they had them?

She is a nail biter/finger sucker so that's why she keeps getting them I guess. I am strict with hand washing but it's obviously not enough.
I think if I tell her (she is 6) she will freak out at the thought of it. On the other hand would it stop her nail biting?

Argh I hate worms. Going to start treating her every term as a prevention I think.

Yuck.

Mine had worms once. He regularly played with a little girl who had a lovely dog - short story, the dog had worms and both my son and the girl got them. He was scratching his bum something terrible! No matter how you tell a child about hygiene, they will do it. He was four or five at the time.

I bought some stuff from pharmacy which you had to dissolve in water. I read instructions and they said whole family should be treated!

Neither husband nor I had any symptoms but I followed the rules - took 'worm killing stuff' myself, child had it and was told he had to drink it - 'fizzy water' - and he did! My husband was a big baby and tried to refuse . it was quite funny at the time but I stood over him and insisted. He was like a big baby!

I know neither of us had worms but still....that's what the instructions said.

Yes, I told son and his father's reaction has gone down in history. Bless. I might remind him over Christmas.....

Worms are no respecters of persons, nothing to be ashamed of. Nasty thought though.

We get over these things.

I'll tell her this time I think and see if it helps.

We all take the medicine each time but it only seems to be her that gets the symptoms.

It's Xmas eve, I have a stinking cold, dd has a cough, DS has an ear infection and perforated ear drum. And now this.
Thankfully I did about six loads of washing yesterday as I couldn't sleep at night due to the cold. So I've no laundry left. Going to wash and hoover and spray everything today.

Another question - dd has a massive soft toy tiger - how do I clean that it won't fit in the washing machine. Can I hoover it and spray with Dettol aerosol?

Oh well. Merry itchy Christmas!

Yes I told my kids. They thought it was hilarious! I bought stuff from the chemist and as I had a friend around who used to spend a lot of time together I offered to treat her kids too, just in case. I felt like Mary poppins with them all lined up in front of me for their medicine. Lol 😆
